MCENTEE’S TEA CARA CERAMIC FILTER TEAPOT

MCENTEE’S TEA CARA CERAMIC FILTER TEAPOT

       NOW AVAILABLE!
      Launched St Patrick’s Day 2021

After the success of their Tea ware range launched in 2020 which includes a range of filter teapots in different colours, styles and sizes, McEntee’s Tea has launched their own unique filter ceramic teapot design with removable infuser and their distinctive logo on the base.

“We hope this new quality Cara ceramic filter teapot priced at €15.90 will enable more and more people to make the move to improve their tea drinking experience using our proper loose tea. We believe in the true tea experience of serving tea from a teapot using loose tea, it’s like a ritual taking us back to our childhood. Encouraging us all to take a moment to enjoy time with friends and family around the fire or kitchen table whether it’s with those in our household or linked via the web to those further afield, a hot warming cuppa can start any conversation and solve many a problem!”— Helen McEntee, Owner & Director

McEntee’s Tea is a family business run by married couple, Donal and Helen McEntee in on the family farm in Charlestown, Co. Louth. Last year their Irish Afternoon Blend tea won the Gold Award in the Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards and their Mint and Nettle Infusion won a Gold Star Great Taste Award in the UK. This follows their clean sweep at the awards the previous year in 2019 when we won Gold, silver and Bronze in their first year participating in the event: Gold for their Mint and Nettle Infusion, Silver for the Gold Blend and Bronze for the Irish Breakfast Blend as well as the Gold Blend winning a Gold Star Great Taste Award that year. The awards give the range of loose teas, including their Organic Sencha Green Tea and now a Moroccan Mint Tea, the national recognition that you can only get from these National Awards.

Their range of tea is now available in Gerry Fresh Foods in Bryanstown,  Stockwell Foods and Coffeebox and look out for the tea within Supervalu stores in the North East. Online Markets such as www.neighbourfood.ie in Blackrock & Slane. Café’s such as and Beo in Duleek and have also started stocking the tea.

We're delighted to have our McEntee's Tea mentioned on Ireland AM this week. Food writer Dee Laffin gave an overview of Award Winning food products during her feature on RTE Ireland am team.

Great to see some of our fellow  Boyne Valley Flavours products on the piece and to have Neighbourfood markets to get a mention too as we have our products on sale in both Blackrock, Dundalk and  Rock Farm, Slane.

The joys of composting with McEntee’s loose Tea mulch

The joys of composting with McEntee’s loose Tea mulch

We thought we’d take a moment to give a shout out for an environmentally friendly thing we do with our used tea leaves: compost! Here’s a four step summary…

      1. Brew yourself a delicious tasting cup of award winning McEntee’s tea.
      2. When cleaning your teapot remove the tea leaf mulch and place into your composting bin.
      3. Dig your mature compost into your weeded vegetable patch in the spring and plant out your young vegetable plants.
      4. Harvest your vegetables in the Autumn. A rewarding and cost effective lunch to again enjoy with family!
